PCWS is excited to host two great writers next week:

Alan Michael Parker will be reading on Wednesday Oct 10 in 501 Cathedral of Learning.  His most recent book of poetry, Long Division, features an unusual number of ‘list poems’ such as “Eighteen Ways to Consider a Neighbor Whose Holiday Lights Stay Up All Year”.  This review from The Rumpus includes some samples of those poems and reflects on what makes them so affecting.

On Thursday Oct 11, our 2012 Brown Award winner Justin Torres will read in the Frick Fine Arts Auditorium from his acclaimed debut We The Animals, which Vanity Fair recently called “a gorgeous, howling coming-of-age novel that will devour your heart.”  You can listen to this podcast from The Guardian to preview Torres discussing his novel.
